Shredded Yams\(New Perry Hotel) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. raw sweet potatoes
    1 gal. water
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. white corn syrup
    1/4 c. margarine
    1 c. pineapple juice
    1/2 c. water
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Peel and shred potatoes in gallon of water.
    Add salt.
    Drain and wash well.
    Place in baking dish. Mix sugar, syrup and 1/2 cup water; cook until it makes simple syrup.
    Add margarine.
    Pour pineapple juice over potatoes, then syrup.
    Cook 35 minutes or until they are transparent.
