Apple Pie Filling - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    5 to 6 c. tart apples
    3/4 to 1 c. sugar (use part brown for added flavor)
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Pare apples; slice into a bowl.
    Mix sugar, spices and salt. Combine with the sliced apples.
    Arrange apple mixture in unbaked shell.
    Dot with butter.
    Bake in 400\u00b0 oven for 50 minutes.
