Coconut Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    3 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. shredded coconut
    3 egg yolks
    1 c. evaporated milk
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Mix thoroughly in saucepan:
    sugar, cornstarch, salt, coconut and egg yolks.
    Stir in gradually until smooth a mixture of evaporated milk and water.
    Cook and stir over low heat until thickened, about 10 minutes.
    Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
    Cover and cool thoroughly.
    Put into cold 9-inch baked pastry shell.
    Spread with meringue.
