Turtle Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 German chocolate cake mix
    1/3 c. milk
    1 (16 oz.) bag caramels
    1 stick butter or margarine
    1 bag chocolate chips
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Mix German cake mix according to package directions.
    Pour half of the batter into a greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 20 minutes.
    While this is baking, in microwave or over low heat, melt butter and caramels with milk.
    Pour on top of cake. Sprinkle chocolate chips and pecans over caramel layer.
    Spoon rest of batter over this.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 20 minutes and then at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Let cool, cover and refrigerate.
