Busy Day Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 2/3 c. all-purpose flour
1 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/3 c. shortening, softened
2/3 c. milk (not cold)
1 egg or 2 egg whites or 1/4 c. egg substitute
1 tsp. flavoring

Preparation

Makes 2 round layers (1-inch thick) or an 8-inch square cake (1 1/2-inches thick).
Bake 25 to 30 minutes in 350\u00b0 oven.
