Seafoam Drops - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. granulated sugar
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. hot water
    2 egg whites
    1 tsp. vanilla
    nuts (if desired)
Preparation
    Combine sugar, cream of tartar, salt and hot water.
    Stir only until sugar is dissolved.
    Boil, without stirring, until syrup forms hard ball in cold water.
    Pour slowly over slightly beaten egg whites, beating constantly, until stiff enough to hold a swirl.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Drop by spoonfuls onto lightly greased pan.
