Fig Preserves Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 egg
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. cooking oil
    1 c. plus 3 Tbsp. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 pt. figs
    chopped pecans (optional)
Preparation
    Blend together all dry ingredients.
    Add remaining ingredients, stirring after each one is added.
    Spread in a 13 x 9-inch greased pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 35 to 40 minutes.
