Jam Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. butter
    1 c. blackberry jam
    1 c. strawberry jam
    1 c. raisins
    5 egg yolks, well beaten
    3 c. flour
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 Tbsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    1 Tbsp. allspice
    1 c. grated nutmeats
    5 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add jam, raisins and egg yolks; beat until smooth.
    Add flour and milk to which soda has been added. Mix well.
    Add spices and nutmeats; mix well.
    Fold in egg whites which have been stiffly beaten.
    Pour in greased layered pans. Bake in a 400\u00b0 oven until done.
