Tomato Pickle Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. ripe tomatoes, cut small and hand squeezed (do not use juice)
    4 or 5 c. sugar
    4 or 5 medium onions, chopped
    3 c. white vinegar
    pickling spices, tied in cloth
Preparation
    Mix ingredients.
    Cook very slowly for 1 hour, stirring often.
