Coconut Cream Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    butter (size of walnut)
    3 egg yolks, beaten
    1/2 c. cornstarch
    1 c. sugar (granulated)
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    coconut (perhaps 1/2 c. or as you like)
Preparation
    Put milk and butter in double boiler and heat.
    Add egg yolks, cornstarch, sugar and salt which have been beaten together.
    Boil together until thick and then add vanilla.
    Cool.
    Add coconut and put into baked pie crust.
    Cover with the beaten whites (meringue) or Cool Whip.
