Lime Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. cucumbers
    1 c. pickling lime
    1 qt. vinegar
    1/2 pack cinnamon sticks
    5 lb. sugar
    1 tsp. mace
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1 tsp. whole cloves
Preparation
    Slice cucumbers
    and
    soak
    in
    lime for 24 hours.
    Add cold water to cover cucumbers and cover for 2 days.
    Rinse and drain. On 3rd day, add remaining ingredients and simmer until hot.
    Pour into quart jars and seal.
