Yeast Biscuits - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. self-rising flour, sifted
    1/2 tsp. soda
    3 tsp. sugar
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 pkg. yeast
    1 c. very warm buttermilk
Preparation
    Sift together dry ingredients; cut in shortening.
    Dissolve yeast in buttermilk; quickly stir it into flour mixture.
    Knead on board until smooth.
    Roll to 1/8-inch thickness; cut with biscuit cutter.
    Brush with melted butter; place one on top of another on a greased cookie sheet.
    Cover; let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
