"Vrasta Fasoulakia Freska" - Stewed Fresh Green Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small onion, finely chopped
    1/4 c. butter
    1 lb. green beans
    1 clove garlic, minced
    1 tsp. minced fresh mint or 1/2 tsp. dried mint
    1 Tbsp. minced parsley
    1 tsp. fennel seed
    1/2 c. tomato sauce
    1/4 c. water
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter until golden.
    Meanwhile, wash beans and cut in 2-inch lengths.
    Add to onion and saute, stirring constantly until beans have turned a bright green.
    Add remaining ingredients and simmer gently 30 minutes or until beans are tender.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
