Fried Green Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 large green tomatoes
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 tsp. salt
    1 egg, well beaten
    1/2 c. bread crumbs
Preparation
    Wash the tomatoes and cut into 1/2-inch slices.
    Soak for 1 hour in cold, salted water.
    Add the sugar, pepper and salt to the beaten egg.
    Dip each tomato slice into the egg mixture, then into the bread crumbs.
    Fry on both sides in hot oil until brown.
