Homemade Tomato Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 clove garlic, chopped
    1 onion, chopped
    1 stalk celery, chopped
    3 c. raw barley
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes or peeled ripe tomatoes, chopped
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. pepper
    1/2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. oregano
    1 tsp. basil
    3 c. hot milk
    1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Saute in a small amount of oil the first 3 ingredients.
    Add barley and flour.
    Then add the tomatoes and seasonings and cook 45 minutes.
    Heat the milk.
    Do not boil.
    Add the butter; add to the tomato mixture.
    Warm the soup but do not boil.
    Serve piping hot. Delicious!
