Applesauce Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. applesauce
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1/4 c. cocoa
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3 c. quick rolled oats
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
    pecan meal
Preparation
    Simmer applesauce gently 5 minutes.
    Add sugar, butter, cocoa and salt.
    Boil 1 minute.
    Remove from heat.
    Immediately add oats, nuts, vanilla and almond.
    Mix well.
    Drop by teaspoons on wax paper.
    When cool, roll into balls and then in pecan meal. Store in airtight container.
    Yield:
    50 to 55 balls.
