Jul-Grot Or Risen-Grot(Christmas Porridge) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. uncooked rice
    1 c. hot water
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    5 c. milk
Preparation
    Scald rice with boiling water.
    Melt butter; add rice and hot water.
    Cook carefully until water disappears, about 10 minutes. Add salt, sugar and milk.
    Cook in double boiler for at least 1 hour.
    Serve with cold milk, sugar and cinnamon.
    Also good served plain.
