Crunchy Cucumber Sticks - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    7 lb. Large cucumbers
    2 c. lime (canning)
    2 gal. water
    3 oz. alum
    2 qts. white vinegar
    6 lb. sugar
    1 Tbsp. celery seed
    2 qts. water
    3 Tbsp. mixed spices
    1 Tbsp. salt
Preparation
    First day:
    Peel 7 lbs. cucumbers.
    Take seed out and cut lengthwise.
    Soak 24 hours in 2 gals. water and 2 c. lime water.
