Grandma'S Tea Cakes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 pkg. active dry yeast
    1/2 c. warm water
    1/4 c. scalded milk
    1/2 c. salad oil or melted shortening
    1/3 c. sugar
    3/4 tsp. salt
    2 1/2 to 3 c. sifted flour
    1/2 to 1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 c. currants
    2 eggs, beaten
Preparation
    Soften\tyeast in warm water.
    Combine milk, shortening, sugar and
    salt.\tSift
    together\t1 cup of flour and currants. Stir in milk
    mixture.
    Add
    well beaten eggs.
    Add yeast and remaining flour.
    Mix
    well.\tKnead.\tPut
    into large greased bowl.
    Brush top of dough with melted butter.
    Cover; let rise until doubled in bulk.
    Shape into small, round buns.
    Put on greased pan.
    Let rise until doubled in bulk.
    Beat together 1 egg and
    1/2 cup milk.
    Brush on buns and sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 20 minutes.
