German Apple Cake - cooking recipe

3 c. all-purpose flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
4 eggs
2 c. sugar
1 c. vegetable oil
1/2 c. orange juice
2 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
4 c. thinly sliced, peeled apples
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
3 Tbsp. sugar
confectioners sugar (optional)
Preparation

Combine flour, powder and salt; set aside.
Beat eggs and 2 cups sugar.
Combine oil and orange juice and add alternately with dry ingredients to egg/sugar mixture.
Add vanilla and mix until smooth.
Pour 1/2 batter in greased tube pan.
Arrange 1/2 the apples on top.
Mix cinnamon and sugar and sprinkle 1/2 of it on apples.
Add remaining batter, then apples, then last of cinnamon/sugar.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 1 hour and 10 minutes.
Cool. Can sprinkle confectioners sugar on top when completely cool.
