Tony G'S Chili - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. ground beef
    3 (16 oz.) cans kidney beans
    1 qt. tomato puree
    salt and pepper
    3 qt. water
    2 small onions
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. vinegar
    1/3 can chili powder
Preparation
    Saute onions (cut up) in a very small amount of olive oil.
    Add ground beef.
    (If you use dried beans, cook in water in large pot for 1/2 hour or so.)
    Otherwise, add beef mixture to large pot with 3 quarts of water.
    Also, add the tomatoes, sugar and vinegar and beans.
    Cook for 1 1/2 hours if using dried beans or cook for 1/2 hour and add canned beans and cook another 1/2 hour.
    Skim off any grease and thicken with flour.
    Serve.
