Swenson'S Potato Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. butter or shortening
    4 eggs, beaten separately
    1 c. milk
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. mashed potatoes
    6 Tbsp. cocoa (depends on color)
    1/2 tsp. allspice
    1/2 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    3 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. walnuts
Preparation
    Cream sugar and oil; add egg yolks, then potatoes.
    Mix all dry ingredients separately, sifted together 3 or 4 times.
    Add alternately the dry ingredients and milk to creamed mixture.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Fold in beaten egg whites last.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until done, approximately 1/2 hour or so.
