Almond Gingersnaps(Swedish Pepparkakor) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter or 1/2 c. butter and 1/2 c. margarine
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. dark Karo syrup
    1 Tbsp. ginger
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    2 tsp. cloves
    3 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 c. sliced almonds
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Work butter until creamy. Add sugar, syrup, spices, baking soda, almonds and flour.
    Turn onto floured baking board and knead until smooth.
    Shape into 2 thick, slightly flattened rolls.
    Wrap each in wax paper.
    Chill.
    Cut crosswise into thin slices.
    Place on ungreased baking sheet and bake for 8 to 10 minutes.
