Sweet Potato Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cooked, mashed sweet potatoes
    1/2 c. butter, softened
    2 eggs, separated
    1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. ground ginger
    1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
    1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg
    1/2 c. milk
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 unbaked 9-inch pie shell
    whipped cream and grated orange rind for garnish
Preparation
    Combine sweet potatoes, butter, egg yolks, brown sugar, salt and spices; mix well.
    Add milk, blending until smooth.
    Beat egg whites until foamy; gradually add 1/4 cup sugar, beating until stiff.
    Fold into sweet potato mixture.
    Pour filling into pie shell.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
    Reduce heat to 350\u00b0 and bake an additional 30 minutes.
    When cool, garnish with whipped cream and grated orange rind.
