Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3/4 c. cocoa
    2/3 c. shortening plus 1/4 c.
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/4 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Grease a 9 x 13-inch pan.
    In large saucepan, melt cocoa and
    shortening
    over
    low
    heat.
    Remove from heat.
    Blend in sugar,
    eggs and vanilla.
    Mix in remaining ingredients.
    Spread in
    prepared pan.
    Bake 30 minutes or until brownies pull away from
    the
    side
    of
    the pan.
    Do not overbake. Cool slightly; cut into bars.
    Makes 32.
