New Year'S Day Bean Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 oz. large lima beans
    2 oz. small lima beans
    2 oz. kidney beans
    2 oz. navy beans
    2 oz. small red beans
    2 oz. barley
    2 oz. black-eyed peas
    2 oz. green split peas
    2 oz. yellow split peas
    2 oz. lentils
    2 Tbsp. salt
    2 qt. water
    ham hocks
    1 large chopped onion
    1 can tomatoes
    juice of 1 lemon
    salt and pepper
Preparation
    Wash beans well and place in a large kettle.
    Cover with water, add 2 tablespoons salt and soak overnight.
    Drain well and add 2 quarts water and ham hocks.
    Bring to a boil and simmer slowly 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
    Then add remaining ingredients.
    Simmer 1/2 hour longer.
    Freezes well.
