Broccoli Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. onions, chopped
    8 Tbsp. margarine
    1 1/2 gal. water
    1/2 tsp. thyme
    3 lb. broccoli, chopped
    1 c. chicken base
Preparation
    Saute onions in margarine.
    Add water and remaining ingredients.
    After this has cooked and is good and hot, add roux to thicken.
    If needed, thin with half and half as you use daily.
