Bologna Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. milk
    1 lb. dates
    1 c. shredded coconut
    1/2 c. pecans
Preparation
    Combine sugar
    and milk.
    Cook to soft ball stage.
    Add dates and cook
    until
    mixture leaves the side of the pan when it is stirred.
    Remove
    from
    heat.
    Stir in coconut and nuts; cool slightly.
    Turn
    out
    on
    a wet towel.
    Shape into a roll and refrigearte.
    When cold, slice into 1/4-inch slices.
