Onion Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 large onions, cut into large pieces
    1 c. grated Swiss cheese
    1/4 c. unsalted butter
    2/3 c. half and half milk
    1 c. rice
Preparation
    Cook onions in butter until transparent; do not brown.
    Add half and half, rice and cheese.
    Mix well and pour into slightly buttered, 2-quart oblong dish.
    Bake 1 hour at 350\u00b0.
