Ingredients

1 tsp. lemon juice (fresh)
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 c. blackberries
1 tsp. baking powder
3/4 stick butter
Preparation

In a large bowl, stir together cornstarch and 1/4 cup cold water.
Add sugar, lemon juice and the blackberries; combine this mixture thoroughly.
Pour into an 8-inch skillet or baking pan (2 inches deep).
In a bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, baking powder and salt; mix well.
Blend in butter.
Add 1/4 cup boiling water.
Stir until it forms a dough.
Bring the berry mixture to a boil on top of the stove, stirring often.
Drop tablespoons of dough into boiling mixture until all dough is used up.
Stir and bake in preheated oven at 400\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes.
Serve warm with ice cream.
