Green Pea Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 strips bacon
    1 c. sliced water chestnuts
    1 c. chopped onion
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 c. chopped green pepper
    1/4 c. butter
    4 c. frozen peas
    1 (10 3/4 oz.) can cream of mushroom soup
    1 medium pimento, chopped
    bread crumbs
Preparation
    Fry bacon until crisp; set aside.
    Reserve juice from water chestnuts.
    In skillet, saute next 4 ingredients in bacon drippings.
    Using reserved juice from chestnuts, dilute soup.
    Add next 2 ingredients to sauteed vegetables.
    Pour into greased casserole and cover with crumbs.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes. Dot top of casserole with butter.
