Lemon Buttermilk Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. Crisco or Wesson oil
    2 1/2 c. white sugar
    3 1/2 c. flour
    4 eggs
    1 Tbsp. lemon extract
    1 1/2 tsp. water (hot)
    1/2 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream shortening and sugar until light like whipped butter. Add eggs, one at a time, and continue beating.
    Slowly add flour, buttermilk, salt, hot water, flavoring and soda, beating all the while.
    Bake in a greased tube pan for 1 1/2 hours at 350\u00b0.
    Cool 10 minutes in pan before removing.
