Chocolate Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

5 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. plus 6 Tbsp. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
2 c. boiling water
3 egg yolks, beaten
1/2 stick butter or oleo
3 sq. bitter chocolate
1 tsp. vanilla
3 egg whites
Preparation

Sift cornstarch, 1 1/2 cups sugar and salt in top of double boiler; stir in boiling water and mix well.
Place over lower part of double boiler and stir until custard leaves side of pan.
Add egg yolks and cook 5 minutes.
Turn off heat and stir in butter. After butter has melted, add chocolate and vanilla.
Pour into baked pie shell.
Cover with meringue of egg whites, beaten with remaining sugar.
Bake at 250\u00b0 to 300\u00b0 until golden brown.
Cool and serve.
