Raisin Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. raisins
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. lard and butter, mixed
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cloves
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1 tsp. nutmeg
    4 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Pour 2 cups boiling water over raisins and boil 15 minutes. Take from stove and let cool, then add 1 cup cold water.
    Add remaining ingredients, raisins and water.
    Mix well.
    Grease cake pan and pour mixture into pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until toothpick inserted in middle comes out clean.
