Pineapple Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (20 oz.) can chunked pineapple
    3 c. milk
    1/3 stick butter
    5 Tbsp. flour
    4 eggs, separated
    2 c. sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla flavoring
    vanilla wafers
Preparation
    Combine milk and butter in saucepan over low heat.
    Add 1 1/2 cups of sugar, flour and egg yolks.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened (about 30 minutes).
    Remove from heat; stir in vanilla flavoring.
    Pour into 10-inch round baking dish.
    Layer with pineapple and vanilla wafers.
    In bowl, add pinch of salt to egg whites.
    Beat until peak forms.
    Spread over top of pudding.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 until egg whites are browned.
