Oven French Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 loaf French or Italian bread
    8 eggs, beaten
    3 c. milk
    2 tsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Slice bread 1-inch thick and arrange in one layer in a 13 x 9-inch pan or dish.
    Beat eggs.
    Add all ingredients, except butter; beat together.
    Pour over bread; dot with butter.
    Cover with foil.
    May refrigerate 4 to 36 hours.
    Uncover; bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
    Remove from oven; let stand 5 minutes. Serves 8.
