Hamburger Bean Pot Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. dried pinto or navy beans
    3 qt. water
    1 (1 lb. 12 oz.) can tomatoes
    1 c. diced celery
    2 c. chopped onion
    2 c. chopped carrots
    2 c. diced potatoes
    4 beef bouillon cubes
    1 bay leaf
    1/4 tsp. basil leaves
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 1/2 lb. hamburger
Preparation
    Heat water and beans to boiling and boil for 2 minutes.
    Remove from heat and let stand 1 hour.
    Reheat and cook for 20 minutes. Then add all other ingredients, except hamburger.
    Heat to boiling.
    Reduce heat and simmer 1 hour.
