Rhubarb Bar - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. rhubarb
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
    1 1/2 c. oats
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1 c. brown sugar
    2 sticks butter
    1/2 tsp. soda
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1 c. water
Preparation
    Cook first 3 ingredients, then set aside to cool.
    Combine next 5 and stir cornstarch with water and add to oat mixture. Pour 3/4 of this mixture into lightly greased 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
    Pour rhubarb on top, then put last 1/4 on top of rhubarb. Bake for 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
    Good plain, or with ice cream or whipping cream, hot or cold.
