Ingredients

6 c. milk
1 c. rice
1/2 c. sugar
2 Tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
Preparation

Add rice, milk, sugar, butter and salt to a heavy 3-quart saucepan over medium heat until tiny bubbles form around edge of pan, stirring frequently.
Reduce heat to low; cover and simmer until rice is very tender.
