Plantation Pecan Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter (not margarine)
    1 c. firmly packed dark brown sugar
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1 Tbsp. evaporated milk or whipping cream
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3 large eggs (room temperature)
    2 Tbsp. vanilla extract
    1 1/2 c. pecans, broken
    1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
Preparation
    Cream butter; add sugar gradually, then add syrup and evaporated milk.
    In another bowl add salt to eggs and beat until light.
    Stir well into first mixture; add vanilla and pecans.
    Use 1 cup nuts for halves or 1 1/2 cups if broken into pieces.
    Pour mixture into pie shell.
    Bake in preheated 400\u00b0 oven for 10 minutes.
    Lower temperature to 350\u00b0 and bake 35 to 40 minutes longer.
