    1 c. white sugar
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. cold water
    1 1/2 c. lard (shortening)
    2 c. sugar
    2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. cold water
    1 lb. shortening
Preparation
    Everything else is the same.
