Moist Date Cake With Buttermilk Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. salad oil
    3 eggs
    2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. nutmeg, cinnamon and allspice
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 c. chopped walnuts
    1 c. chopped dates
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, oil and eggs.
    Beat until creamy.
    Sift dry ingredients; add alternately with milk to creamed mixture.
    Stir in vanilla, nuts and dates.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 minutes in a 9 x 13-inch greased pan.
    Cool and spread with icing.
