Strawberry Glaze Pie(With Flaky Pastry Shell) - cooking recipe

1 1/2 qt. strawberries
1/2 c. water
1 c. sugar
3 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 Tbsp. butter
red food coloring
1 (9-inch) baked pastry shell
1 c. heavy cream
Preparation

Hull, wash and thoroughly drain berries; crush enough to make 1 cup, leaving the rest whole.
Combine crushed berries with water, sugar and cornstarch.
Bring to a boil, cook over low heat for 2 to 3 minutes or until clear, stirring occasionally to prevent lumping. Add butter, tint to desired shade and cool slightly.
Line baked pastry shell with whole berries, pour glaze mixture over making sure all are covered.
Cool; just before serving, garnish with whipped cream.
