Apricot Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted flour
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. butter or oleo
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. chopped walnuts
    1 1/2 c. flaked coconut
    2 c. apricot preserves (18 oz. jar)
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Sift first 3 ingredients into a bowl; set aside.
    Cream butter; gradually add sugar, beating until light and fluffy.
    Add nuts, coconut and flour mixture.
    Mix until well blended.
    Press 3/4 of the mixture in the bottom of a 10 x 15-inch baking pan.
    Spread jam over mixture.
    Sprinkle with remaining crumbs.
    Bake 25 to 30 minutes.
    Cool and cut in bars.
