Caramel Crispix - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. light corn syrup
    1 c. butter (not oleo)
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    pinch of cream of tartar
    1 (12.3 oz. box) or 10 c. Crispix
    2 c. mixed nuts
Preparation
    Mix brown sugar, corn syrup and butter in heavy 2-quart saucepan and boil for 5 minutes.
    Do not stir! Remove from heat and stir in baking soda and cream of tartar.
    Mix well and pour over Crispix and nuts.
    Stir to coat.
    Spread in large, buttered roaster.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
    Cool 10 minutes.
    Stir and break into pieces.
    Cool completely and store in covered container.
    (Good for popcorn, too.)
