Beef Burgundy Hero - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (12-inch) loaf Italian bread
    1 slice bacon, diced
    1 1/2 lb. tenderloin, cut into julienne strips
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 c. beef broth
    1/2 c. Burgundy
    1/8 tsp. thyme
    3 Tbsp. tomato paste
    1/2 bay leaf
    1 Tbsp. butter
    12 small frozen onions
    12 fresh mushrooms, sliced
Preparation
    Cut loaf in half lengthwise; hollow out each half.
    Butter insides; place under broiler to toast and set aside.
    Fry bacon. Saute steak in drippings.
    Sprinkle flour over meat in pan; stir. Add broth and Burgundy; stir until thickened.
    Add thyme, tomato paste and bay leaf; simmer gently.
