Cherry Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 (1 lb.) cans tart red cherries
    3/4 c. sugar
    3 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 Tbsp. grated lemon peel (optional)
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    few drops red food coloring
    1 (9-inch) unbaked pie shell
    1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. mace
    1/3 c. butter
Preparation
    Drain cherries.
    Reserve 1 1/4 cups liquid. Combine 3/4 cup sugar, cornstarch and salt. Add reserved liquid.
    Cook until thick, stirring constantly.
    Add cherries, lemon peel, lemon juice and food coloring.
    Pour into pastry shell. Combine flour, 1/2 cup sugar and spices.
    Cut in butter until crumbly. Sprinkle over cherries.
    Bake in a 400\u00b0 oven about 30 minutes or until crust is brown. Serve warm.
