Old-Fashioned Fried Apple Pies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 qt. frozen apples, cooked
    2 tsp. cinnamon
    1 c. sugar
    3 c. flour (self-rising)
    1/3 c. shortening
    milk
Preparation
    In large Dutch oven, place frozen apples over low heat. Stir in
    1 cup sugar and simmer until done.
    Sprinkle cinnamon (use more, if desired) across cooked apples.
    Allow to cool to room temperature
    so it won't melt the dough while frying.
    In large mixing
    bowl,
    pour
    in sifted flour.
    Cut in shortening and blend in
    milk
    to
    form dough.
    Pinch off golf ball size dough.
    Roll on
    floured
    surface and spoon in cooled apples. Fold and seal. In large electric skillet with hot oil, put in pies.
    Brown evenly on both sides.
