Breakfast Coffee Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 tsp. dry yeast
1/4 c. warm water
1/2 c. plus 1 tsp. sugar, divided
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. milk
Preparation

Combine yeast, warm water and 1 teaspoon sugar; set aside. Cream shortening, 1/2 cup sugar and egg until light and fluffy; set aside.
Combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Add milk to yeast mixture; add to creamed mixture alternately with the dry ingredients; mixing well after each addition.
