Merengues (Little Candy Kisses) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 egg whites
    3/4 c. sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 bag chocolate bits (optional)
Preparation
    Beat 2 egg whites until stiff.
    Gradually add sugar while still beating, salt too.
    When quite shiny, fold in vanilla and chocolate bits.
    Drop by scant teaspoon onto greased cookie sheet.
    Bake one hour at 250\u00b0.
    Do not double recipe.
    It is better to do it twice. Makes 50 servings.
